Angus is usually used for its meat and is very hardy, hence it can survive in harsh cold weathers as well. Angus usually mature quicker than Herford cattle. They are calves are smaller and usually not accepted in the market so they require cross breeding. Angus has a large muscle these usually preferred by the Japan for its marbling qualities, the marbling on the beef is taken as an indication of superior  quality meat.
